Principle Construction Ltd were initially brought in by the manufacturer and designer based in Dubai to look at the fire barrier system, known to the manufacturer as “fogle”, which is an ultra-thin lightweight barrier system with a burn time of over 4 hours.
The roof itself is made of a composite material measuring 2,225 m² and is the only example in the world.
We carried out extensive investigations to identify any breaches, damages or anomalies from the construction process of the building. We identified over 70 repairs needed which were swiftly repaired in accordance to the original manufacturers specifications.
Principle Construction Ltd was then instructed to provide a long term maintenance plan to include any remediation needed.

Principle Construction Ltd were instructed by a national housebuilder to inspect a high rise block of apartments with ongoing and unidentifiable water ingress into the building. We carried out a thorough and detailed inspection to identify the source, working in partnership with Vinci Technology and Paterson Reeves (principle designer) to identify multiple areas of water ingress.
Following the investigation, we carried out the necessary, but extensive remedial work, which was approached to ensure cost efficiency and customer satisfaction. We were also principal contractor (under CDM), ensuring the work was completed safely and efficiently, and ensuring all health and safety regulations were met.
The project was finished early, under budget, with no complaints from the customers and with no health and safety incidents.

Principle Construction Ltd was instructed by a national housebuilder to inspect 480 homes with suspected issues with compliance of fire stopping aspects. The inspection regime focused primarily on the ‘overfelt’ or above batten fire stop. During the inspection regime a high failure rate was noted, including poorly fitted or completely absent fire stopping.
Our role in this project included every aspect from preparation and customer liaison, to proving compliance with completed work and completing the remediation effectively and safely. We worked with a team of other contractors to inspect and remediate areas of non-compliance for all 480 homes within 8 weeks. The remediation work followed the inspection within 48 hours and no complaints were received by customers.
There were no breaches of health and safety requirements, and partnership customers, private customers, external surveyors, health and safety inspectors and our client were all delighted with our performance on this project.
